A great way to give your students a fun learning activity is to play a ‘song lyrics gap fill’ game. Give the students a printed lyric sheet for the song you are about to play, where certain key words have been omitted. Now play the song, instructing students to fill in the gaps as they listen to the song.
As an alternative, students must listen to the song first. Then you provide them the lyric sheet afterwards, in order to stretch their memory, too. Afterwards, provide feedback and clarification on any words the students did not understand. Learn more in this video from BBC Learning English:
